Shorshey Eelish
Now this dish is a classic…brings every bong down to his knees. Its should be taken with steaming hot rice.
Ingredients:
- Fish (Eelish or Hilsa)
- Ground Mustard
- Mustard oil
- Green chilli
- Turmeric powder
- Paanch Phoron (mustard seeds+Radhuni+Cumin+Black Cumin Seeds)
- Salt to taste
Method:
#1. Fish + turmeric, red chili powder (option 2: green chili paste) and salt
#2. Fry in mustard oil till fish is 70% done
#2. Take out the fish
#3. Use the same oil. Add Green Chili + Paach Phoron
#4. Add Ground Mustard (mixed in water) (careful, too much of this might make things bitter)
#5. Add the fish in the gravy
#6. Simmer in low heat with the cover for 5-10 mins
#7. Sprinkle a bit of mustard oil before finishing off.
