Chicken Kassuri
This is one of my favorites! love the Green Chili + Kasoori Methi combination.
Ingredients:
- ½ kg Chicken
- 3 Cut Potatoes (optional, cut each potato in four blocks)
- 3 Tbsp Veg Oil
- ½ cup Yogurt
- 5 Garlic cloves, 1 inch Ginger
- 2 Chopped small Onion
- 6 Green Chili (optional)
- 2tsp (White Pepper+ Nutmeg+ Mace (1 : 0.5 : 0.5) mix
- 2 tsp Kasoori Methi (dry)
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder
- 2 tsp Tomato Sauce
Method:
#1. Marinate Chicken with Pepper + Garlic + Ginger + Yogurt
(We left it for a week J – however overnight is reasonable)
#2. Oil + Cumin seeds + Ginger Garlic paste
#3. Add onions + little bit of salt – fry till golden brown
#4.Add Chicken and fry till soft and brown (15/20mins)
#5. Coriander + Chili powder (in a little bit of water)
#5. Add Yogurt (whisked with water) and continue fry
#6. Add the White Pepper + Nutmeg + Mace mix to it
#7. Add the (almost done) Potatoes (We microwaved them 5mins) once chicken is 90% cooked
#8. Add the tomato sauce (mix 1/4 cup water+ 2tea spoon of sauce and add)
#9. Crush the Kasoori Methi leaves and add it the chicken
#10. Simmer on low heat with closed lid till oil separates

This is a fantastic dish! Last time i made this for my German friends, i forgot the potatoes in a hurry – it wasn’t bad at all. If you like it spicy – add your chilli-s.
