Tadka
We were out of ’stuff’ so Chandrani made this as a makeshift dinner one night…but totally floored me – its simple and gorgeous. Goes well with nice soft roti, a chunk of onion and green chilis.
Ingredients
- Black moong daal (2 cups),
- fenugreek,
- onion (1), garlic (4), ginger, Tomato (1 small)green chili,
- cilantro,
- white oil,
- 2 eggs
- salt to taste
Method
1. Boil the moong daal separately
2. Add oil in a cooking pan, and add the minced garlic followed by chopped thin sliced onions and fry in low heat till golden brown and add ginger, tomato and sliced green chili
3. Add the moong dal and salt and add a little water and allow to boil
4. Add fenugreek and butter (1tbsp)
5. In a seperate pan make scrambled eggs with some onion and green chili and add the cooked dal and fry
6. Serve with sliced lemon and chopped cilantro
